Q: Tell us about your organization.
Renewable Energy Massachusetts LLC (REM) is a Massachusetts-based solar energy development company founded in 2009 that has developed several large-scale operating solar projects in Massachusetts. REM is a member of the Northeast Clean Energy Council, has been an active participant in the Massachusetts DOER and DPU solar energy policy making process, and is currently developing several megawatt-scale municipal and community shared solar energy projects in the Commonwealth.
Q: What advice would you give to people in midlife who want to transition to a green job?
Clean tech in general is a rapidly growing industry globally, with opportunities across the entire green jobs spectrum, there are great careers out there, get on LinkedIn and network.
Q: What are the skills that you believe will be required most in the short-medium term in your industry?
From liberal artists to MBAs to project developers to engineers to sales/marketing to legal to policy to operations to finance, the skills needed for these roles, more importantly, require a growth mindset, problem-solving attitude, and team/collaborative approach.
