A useful learning and networking opportunity for anyone interested in carbon dioxide removal (CDR) solutions: the This Is CDR: The Future Forest Company free webinar on March 29. Here’s the description:
OpenAir is excited to present This Is CDR, an online event series that explores the wide range of carbon dioxide removal (CDR) solutions currently being researched, developed, and deployed, and discusses them in the context of the Carbon Dioxide Removal Leadership Act (CDRLA), state-level CDR procurement legislation researched, developed, and drafted by OpenAir for New York, and other states and localities.
This week on This Is CDR, we are pleased to welcome Jim Mann, Co-Founder and CEO of the Future Forest Company, to to chat about scalable, durable carbon removal and how enhanced weathering and biochar can be applied to improve productive land.
Jim Mann grew up on a hill farm before studying Ecology at Durham University. After university, he founded several successful businesses in technology, retail, and leisure before his environmental background drew him back to the fight against climate change and the ecological disaster it’s bringing with it. The Future Forest Company was born with the aim to deliver large scale reforestation projects of degraded land in the UK to have a meaningful impact in the fight against climate change. When he’s not in the forest Jim runs competitively at ultra distance, his favourite events being 100+ mile mountain races.
