A useful learning and networking opportunity for anyone interested in climate tech: The Quantum Climate Challenge 2023 free webinar on January 19.
Are you ready for an exciting challenge in the realm of quantum computing and materials research?
Direct air capture of carbon dioxide is a crucial technology to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Materials that act as carbon dioxide filters are complex to simulate. Using quantum computers to simulate their properties is a promising route to improve these filter materials.
We invite you to explore the intersection of quantum computing and materials research that may help fight the climate crisis by tackling our quantum climate challenge. In addition to an attractive prize pool you will get access to quantum simulators & computers (provided by IBM and AWS) as well as to a classical simulation tool that runs in the cloud (Quantistry).
In this webcast, we’ll give you an introduction to direct air capture as well as an overview of the challenge tasks and timeline.
You can find detailed information about the challenge here: https://app.ekipa.de/challenges/deloitte-quantum-23/brief
Schedule:
Welcoming Remarks: Dr. Renata Jovanovic, Partner, Deloitte Consulting.
Keynote speech on Direct Air Capture: Dr. Carlos Haertel, Chief Technology Officer, Climeworks.
Introduction of the Challenge, Julian M. Dlugosch, Deloitte Consulting.
